Lucky in Love, Rich in Friends
'Bout time for an update.
It sure has been an interesting start to the year. Not that we can call it the start of the year anymore... Almost the 25th of March, which means almost 6months to go till the big day... *nerves*
If you've been checking in on me you may have seen my short (very short, one sentence type) entries from my phone. Then, you will know that I crashed the car that I bought less than six months ago, in a rather unfortunate 'out of no where' incident.
My future Mother in Law was lovely and lent me her car for a month or so, and workmates gave me lifts on the days I didn't have the car, how lucky am I to have such caring people around me? Its hard to remember those people and the things they do for you when you are surrounded by your own head space of depression, worry and 'bad luck', even though its when you are in those moments that these people truly shine. My fiance had to keep reminding me that I don't have bad luck at all, and to look at all the wonderful people, things and love I had around me. He is of course correct and I am thankful for him and those people/things :D
The good news is that the finance/insurance is finally sorted and I now have a new car. Its older and an automatic (ewwwww) but I think that it is possibly a cooler car. Dark blue '94 Honda Ascot, its quite the fancy, in '94 it was possibly one of the fanciest cars on the market.... Its been well looked after and has only done 97,000 ks!
Also in these early months I had an eyesight scare. I went into the AA to renew my drivers licence only to be sent to an optometrist as I failed the eyesight portion. There were 2 things that alarmed the optometrist, one being that after my last eye test (about 3 years ago) where it was discovered I had a mild astigmatism and nothing else, this time my eyes had drastically deteriorated and I am also quite short sighted, the cost of new glasses and the fact that I now have to wear them for driving aside, the rate of deterioration is alarming. On top of that the optometrist found a scar on the back of one of my eyes. Booked into a specialist I was left for 2 weeks worrying about glaucoma's and the like. All is fine tho, the scar or whatever it once was is now benign.
Due to the expensive year that has been so far and the fact that it will continue to be so with the wedding coming up we have had to make sacrifices. We have cancelled our WoW subscription for now, renewed our rental lease for a year (we cant afford the time or money involved in finding a new house) and I am about to turn down an offer to join and outdoor soccer league (for the same reasons above). But there is some good news on the money front, as of 2moro I will have paid off my GE account :)
Other bright news for the near future; this weekend the geek convention Armageddon is in town, the fiance and I are taking his StarWars mad 7 yr old nephew for the first time, so it should be fun :) We will possibly buy him his first comic book.... :D I do love converting people to the dark side... Easter weekend is coming, Fiance and I are staying a night in the always relaxing Hanmer Springs.
Also, the indoor soccer team is on the up again, we thumped a team last week 16-1, makes a hell of a difference when we have our striker girl on board.
Wedding updates.... Going well and to plan time wise
